50 Sweet Valentine's Day Poems For Kids (2023) - Milwaukee with Kids

Valentine’s Day

What images do those two words bring to mind? Hearts? Flowers? Chocolates? Teddy bears? What memories do you have? Do you flash back to elementary school remembering picking out Valentine’s to take to your class and making your own “mailbox” for the ones you got? Elementary school taught us this was THE day for love.

THE CROSS AND VALENTINE’S DAY

Hearts usually symbolize Valentine’s Day, but what if we saw a cross? What if when we thought of Valentine’s Day, we immediately thought of how Jesus died on a cross for us? His sacrifice demonstrated love better than anything we could imagine. His death on that cross built a bridge to have an eternal relationship with the Lord.

Look to John 3:16 and find treasure in these words.

For you, God gave his one and only son,
On the cross the ultimate love sacrifice was done.
Today, give yourself the greatest gift you can,
Open the Word of God and hold it in your hands.
Begin with the promise in John 3:16,
Imagine what eternal life for you would mean.
While this may seem hard to believe or understand,
From the very beginning, you were a part of His plan.
