Description

Candidate is responsible for fabricating, assembling, and joining metal components to create and maintain the framework of buildings, bridges and other infrastructures, ensuring structural integrity and safety.

Responsibilities
  • Must follow ALL OSHA, company and job site safety rules
  • Must be able to read and interpret project plans, blueprints, and other written instructions and diagrams to perform the task
  • Must be able to cut, shape, and join metal parts such as beams, columns, and plates to form complete structures, often using MIG, TIG, or stick welding techniques
  • Must be able to perform fit-up checks, tach welding, and final weld passes, ensuring alignment and compliance with structural standards
  • Must maintain welding equipment and tools, as well as cleaning and preparing metal surfaces
  • Must be proficient in operating welding machines, power saws, grinders, and lifting equipment like cranes and forklifts
  • Must have manual dexterity, precision, and knowledge of metallurgy to ensure welds can withstand stress and environmental factors
Qualifications
  • Must have welding credentials (e.g. American Welding Society AWS D1.1 Structural Welding Code, ASME, International Welding Specialist IWS)
  • Must be able to work well with others
  • Must have good communication skills (verbally and written)
  • Must be able to work after hours and weekends if needed
  • Must be able to work in all types of environments, including inclement weather and confined spaces
  • Must be able to work at elevated heights
  • Must be able to climb multiple flights of stairs and occasional ladders
  • Must be able to lift and carry 50lbs
  • Must have 3 - 5 years experience
  • Must have knowledge of safety procedures and regulations
