Scaffold Builder Superintendent
Description

Candidate is responsible for managing the planning, installation, modification, and dismantling of scaffolding on construction sites, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and project specifications. Key responsibilities include leading and directing scaffold crews, performing safety inspections, managing project timelines and budgets, coordinating with other site management, and maintaining accurate documentation of materials and activities. Strong leadership, communication, and technical skills, along with knowledge of industry standards, are essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Operations: Manage the daily operations of the scaffolding department, from planning and erection to modification and dismantling.
• Team Leadership: Lead and direct teams of scaffolders, foremen, and other site personnel, ensuring they have the resources and guidance to complete tasks safely and efficiently.
• Safety and Compliance: Ensure all scaffolding work adheres to safety regulations, industry standards, and project specifications, conducting regular safety inspections.
• Project Management: Coordinate with site management to develop project schedules, manage timelines, and control costs related to scaffolding activities.
• Material Management: Oversee the requisition, inventory, and proper storage of scaffolding materials and tools.
• Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of man-hours, material usage, and activities, and generate reports as needed.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Work effectively with other site supervisors, project managers, and subcontractors to ensure a seamless workflow.

Qualifications

• Extensive Experience: Significant hands-on experience in commercial or industrial scaffolding, ideally with experience in the specific industry (e.g., LNG, heavy industrial).
• Leadership & Communication: Proven ability to lead teams, inspire subordinates, and communicate effectively with clients and other managers.
• Technical Expertise: Thorough knowledge of different types of scaffolding systems and an understanding of project specifications and drawings.
• Safety Certifications: Possession of a High Risk Work License or equivalent certification for working at height.
• Computer Proficiency: Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) for administrative and reporting tasks.
• Problem-Solving: Ability to multitask, think critically, and effectively solve problems in a dynamic construction environment.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to perform site inspections, which involves extensive walking, climbing, and working at heights, as well as the ability to lift 50+ pounds.
