Description
Candidate is responsible for laying out, installing, and maintaining pipe systems and pipe supports.
Responsibilities
- Must follow ALL OSHA, Company, and job site safety rules
- Must be able to read and interpret project plans, blueprints, and other written instructions and diagrams to perform the task
- Cut, thread, and hammer pipe to specifications using tools, such as, cutting torches, grinders, metabola's, pipe threaders and benders
- Assemble and secure fittings and related equipment
- Attach pipes to wall, structures, and fixtures, using brackets, clamp tools, or welding equipment
- Measure and mark pipes for cutting and threading
- Plan pipe system layout, installation, or repair according to specifications
- Select pipe sizes, types, and related materials, such as, supports and hangers
- Remove and replace worn component
- Inspect work sites for obstructions and to ensure that holes will not cause structural weakness
- Operate motorized pumps to remove water from flooded manholes, basements, or facility floors
Qualifications
- Must be able to work well with others
- Must have good communication skills (verbally and written)
- Must be able to work after hours and weekends if needed
- Must be able to work in all types of environments, including inclement weather
- Must be able to work at elevated heights
- Must be able to climb multiple flights of stairs and occasional ladders
- Must be able to lift/carry 50lbs
