Industrial Insulator
Description
Candidate must possess industrial skills to be able to insulate pipes and boilers and is responsible for marking, cutting, and installing insulation to required job specifications.
Responsibilities
- Apply, remove, and repair insulation on pipes and vessels
- Determine the amounts and selects required of insulation material (in sheet, tubular, or roll form), such as fiberglass, foam, rubber, Styrofoam, cork, or urethane, based on materials ability to retain heat, location, surface, shape, and equipment use
- Must perform work in a timely and quality manner that meets or exceeds the satisfaction of the company
- Must follow ALL OSHA, company, and job site safety rules
Skills
- Understand the proper techniques required to install or replace insulation systems
- Measuring, marking, and cutting required materials to required specifications, using tape measures, handsaws, knives, and scissors
- Fit insulation around obstructions, and shape insulating materials and protective coverings as required
Qualifications
- Must assist with other jobs while not actively working on an insulation project
- Must be able to work at heights, off ladders, and scaffolds
- Must be able to work in all types of environments, including inclement weather
- Must have good communication skills (verbally and written)
- Must be physically able to perform frequent standing, walking, bending, squatting, and lifting
- Must be able to climb ladders, stairways, work off platforms, man lifts, and may occasionally work out on open structure using appropriate fall protection requirements
- Must be able to lift, carry, and move up to 50lbs.
- Must be able to work overtime or modified schedule if the project requires
