Candidate installs, maintains, and repairs heavy industrial machinery, focusing on precision alignment, preventative upkeep (lubricating, replacing parts), troubleshooting mechanical/hydraulic/pneumatic systems, and fabrication, requiring blueprint reading, welding, and use of precision tools to keep production running smoothly.
Responsibilities
- Must follow ALL OSHA, company and job site safety rules.
- Installation & Assembly: Setting up new equipment according to technical drawings, using hoists, jacks, and hand/power tools for precise alignment.
- Maintenance: Performing preventative tasks like lubrication, cleaning, and routine inspections to prevent breakdowns.
- Repair & Troubleshooting: Diagnosing issues, disassembling machines, repairing or replacing components (bearings, gears, belts), and testing functionality.
- Fabrication: Welding, cutting, and modifying parts as needed.
- Safety: Adhering to strict safety protocols, including lockout/tagout procedures and operating heavy equipment like forklifts.
Qualifications
- Technical Skills: Reading blueprints/schematics, mechanical aptitude, knowledge of hydraulics/pneumatics, welding (MIG, TIG, Stick), and precision measurement.
- Tools: Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, micrometers, laser alignment tools, and potentially cranes/hoists.
- Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, manual dexterity, physical stamina (lifting, heights), and teamwork.
- Must be able to work in industrial settings (factories, mills) with high noise levels, heavy machinery, and potential for working in confined spaces or at heights.
